Be prepared for when you land
Why buy a US sim card? Because it's the easiest and least expensive way to keep in touch with your loved ones back home and with your new friends from the US. You may choose from a variety of sim card plans, depending on your needs, the one that suits you best. When buying a US sim card before traveling, you're only paying for the service you'll be using (the plan), not the sim itself. Moreover, in order to make things easier for you, there's the option to buy a certain plan for several months. In this way, you won't have to worry about recharging your sim card - we'll deal with that for you!
*IMPORTANT! AT&T no longer accepts 3G devices. Before making a purchase, please visit the following link and check if your device is approved for AT&T network. You will find there a list of all accepted devices and instructions regarding how to view your device's model name and number - https://sim-usa.mobi/phone-compatibility-check/
**Even if your device is approved for AT&T network, you need to make sure it is UNLOCKED before traveling to the US in order to be able to use the sim card.
IMEI
Starting this year, in order to be able to activate the sim card, we not only need the sim number and activation date, but also the IMEI for the device on which the sim card will be used.
The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a 15-digit unique number used for identifying a device on a mobile network. This number is now required upon activation in order to make sure the device is accepted by the AT&T network.
In order to check the IMEI on a device, the next steps should be followed:
For Iphones: Settings -> General -> About -> Primary Section (IMEI)
For Androids: Settings -> About Device -> Status -> IMEI Information
